With high profile names such as the recently mentioned Jordan Hamilton, Dahntay Jones and Nolan Smith (all with NBA experience), entering the NBA D-League on a more frequent basis, what does that mean for guys waiting it out in the player pool with less of a name? Or, a player who is already on a roster but towards the bottom of their team’s rotation? The NBA D-League’s player pool currently consists of over 130 players, but how many of those guys are really going to get a crack at a roster spot? With talented players being added daily to the player pool, some with NBA experience, why would a team look to a player who was cut by another NBADL team at the conclusion of training camp, or during the season?
