A dismantled smoke detector at Grand Falls Casino Resort near Larchwood, Iowa, on Saturday led to an arrest of a Texas man on a marijuana possession charge. Casino security was notified of an alarm triggered by a disabled smoke detector in a hotel room, said Jessica Lown, a spokeswoman for the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. Security entered the room and called a local DCI agent after marijuana use was suspected, Lown said. A search warrant executed by DCI found marijuana, Lown said. Sean C. Williams, 26, of Houston, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Lown didn’t know how much marijuana was found.
